Give a special touch to that simple blouse that you have in the closet! Check out this project that is easy to make and will not take you long time.
How to do it:
Step 1: Find a shirt and make sure it’s very wrinkled.
Step 2: Cut vertical slits around the neck. Mine were about 2 inches long and just under an inch apart but they don’t have to be perfect. You should make the first slit about half the size of the rest, as the weaving technique will cause it to open into a hole. Nothing happens if you don’t, however, it can be sewn like I did.
Here are some photos that show you the scale of the slits I made. They definitely weren’t perfect but they don’t have to be!
Step 3: Here comes the technical part. Take loop #2 and push it under loop #1, then pull it through the direction of the remaining loops. It’s not difficult, but if you do it wrong, just start over.
Step 4: Continue with loop #3 through loop # 2 and so on.
Step 5: Go ahead and you’ll see how the braid takes form. If it doesn’t, undo it and start over.
When you get to the end, you’ll need to sew a few stitches to attach the last loop on the shoulder of the shirt. I also had to put a few stitches at the beginning of the braid where the hole opened and it finally turned out beautiful!
